Preliminary Match Cut Film
In this lesson, the teacher told us that we needed to make a short clip and then edit it after we had took all the shots. We had to had a idea of how to use the equipment and what kind of shots we had to use before we actually started filming the real one. We had to have match cuts in the short clip so it looked like a proper clip with cameras all around the room.
I like the match cuts we had done while I had opened the rooms door and walked in, we had the camera outside the room behind me opening the door, then we took the camera into the room and do the sequence again but this time inside the room while me walking in. After we had edited it, since we had edited it good it looked like a continuous cut, in my opinion it was a good match cut.
There were some stuff that i thought we could of done better like the over shoulder shots, since the room was small we couldn't actually put the camera behind anyone, if there was more room we could of done that better and also could of done shot reverse shot to make it look better.
I think for a practise run, we made a good attempt to make a short clip with match cuts and to make them look smooth where you can not tell a match cut has taken place and i think we achieved that as all match cuts look professional. I think this was a good practice because now in the real one we would know how to improve it and not make the same mistakes.
